Athletics Training

Tuesdays and Thursdays
Athletes at the University of London have a horrible tendency to get lost over the cold and grey winter months before our season in the sun really kicks off. So to try and ensure the team stays alive in the off-season we have set up two training sessions per week. These take place at our official home ground the ‘Millennium Arena’ at Battersea Park (click for a map) on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.

It is designed to cater for athletes of all abilities but some coaches do require a level of commitment. They start at 7pm (so allow time to warm up!) and entry onto the track is discounted when you have a Student ID showing your smiling face.

As the club grows so do the number of events we can get coaches for to help you train to be the best!
At the moment we have coaches for:

  • 400m
  • and all longer distances up to the 10k
  • Long and Triple Jump
  • Shot, Discus and Hammer (possibly Javelin depending on numbers)

As for the sprints, hurdles, high jump, and pole vault the club is in the process of finding coaches. But please don’t be put off by this, come down, train together and soon we’ll have some decent coaches to help you
