XC Sunday Training

On Sundays the club arranges a long easy run in various locations around London. The first of our Sunday sessions will be around Hampstead Heath (Parliament Hill). Sign up to the mailing list for details of location and meeting points. At the start of the season we usually begin with a run between 30 minutes and 1 hour depending on how much people want to do, and as the time progresses this will gradually be built up in time and distance. The objective of this run is to get people used to running for prolonged amounts of time and get a good mileage into the legs, resulting (so goes the theory) in improved fitness and strength. If nothing else, it's just nice to do a run away from tourists, billions of pedestrians and traffic.

We meet on Sundays outside the track at Parliament Hill, Hampstead Heath (click here for track info), ready to run at 1000 SHARP! Parliament Hill is the venue of the first London Colleges Race, so it's ideal preparation if you were thinking of competing! Changing facilities and showers are available (£1.20 with a student ID) and you'll need a 50p piece (refundable) for the lockers.
